Through plan reviews, building inspections and property maintenance enforcement, the Building Department positively contributes to the future of Medina's structures.The City of Medina Building Department has a knowledgeable and helpful staff consisting of State of Ohio Certified Building Inspectors, International Code Council Certified Permit Technician and Counter Staff. Their expertise with building construction as well as zoning requirements here in Medina makes completing projects here a pleasant experience.The City of Medina Building Department also enforces property maintenance. We are proud of our Old Historic Structures and have directed our focus on preserving the integrity of our older neighborhoods. In many cases, Owners of properties in the City that fall into disrepair are unable to maintain them. We put much effort into helping connect these owners with available programs and volunteer organizations to assist them in maintainting their property.Through the combination of Planning, Building and Property Maintenance Assistance, the City of Medina Building Department has as its goal the continued wellbeing of our community.

Our customer portal allows citizen access to City data on parcels, planning case information and building permit information. Documents including the Zoning Code, Master Plan, engineering standards and application forms may be downloaded from the City's site.
